“If you pester me one more time while I’m making dinner, nobody’s eating tonight!” said the angry dad to his hungry kids.

The verb pester means to “annoy persistently,” according to Vocabulary.com.

Pestering can be verbal or physical, as when a kid (or a dog) is bouncing up and down at your feet, or tugging on your shirt, or nipping at your heels.

Nobody likes to be pestered. If you’re an adult, you shouldn’t be pestering anyone at all.
